Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Drink hem nu of bewaar hem tot 10 jaar in een kelder. Decanteren is niet nodig, maar u kunt hem het beste een half uur voor het serveren openen.

    Gesticht door Maria Luz Marin in 2000, is Casa Marin een Chileens familie wijnhuis gelegen in Lo Abarca, in de San Antonio Vallei, op korte afstand van de oceaan, in een gebied dat wordt gekenmerkt door een koel klimaat. De productie is voornamelijk gericht op 4 verschillende Pinot Noirs, maar het bedrijf verbouwt ook Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gewürztraminer en Sauvignon Gris.

    De Pinot Noir druiven voor deze wijn komen van de Litoral wijngaard, geplant op kalksteenbodems. Hier zorgt de nabijheid van de oceaan voor een koel, winderig klimaat dat een volledige aromatische en tanninerijping bevordert. Na de vinificatie rust de wijn 16 maanden in gebruikte vaten.

    De wijn heeft een briljante donkerrode kleur, met robijnrode accenten. Het aromaprofiel is fris en levendig met tonen van rode bessen, cranberry en kers, gevolgd door rokerige hints. In de mond is hij fruitig en sappig met een gemiddelde body en een goed gedefinieerde en zeer evenwichtige zuurgraad. De tannines zijn zacht en de afdronk is lang en doet denken aan rood fruit. De grote veelzijdigheid van deze wijn maakt hem geschikt voor diverse culinaire combinaties: hij past goed bij zowel zalm als wit vlees. Voor een speciale combinatie van eten en wijn, probeer hem eens met eenden aiguillettes of pasta Amatriciana.
