    Pierre Gaillard, François Villard en Yves Cuilleron zijn drie gerenommeerde wijnmakers en oude vrienden, die in 1996 samenkwamen om hun ervaring ten dienste te stellen van het potentieel van de wijnen uit het Rhônedal. Zij creëerden een trend van wedergeboorte in het Rhônedal, maar bovenal bliezen zij een historische wijngaard nieuw leven in, beschreven door Plinius de Oudere, en aangeplant in Seyssuel op de tegenoverliggende oever van de Côte-Rôtie en Condrieu appellations.

    Deze cuvée is afkomstig van 1,5 hectare wijngaarden beplant met Syrah in de plaatsen Saint-Pierre, Rouvenne en Barjasse, in de appellation Cornas. De handmatige oogst wordt gevolgd door gedeeltelijke ontstemming en gisting met inheemse gisten. Vervolgens rust de wijn 16 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten.

    De Cornas Les Barcillants is een complexe, tanninerijke en levendige rode wijn met een krachtige smaak en een intense en diepe kleur. De neus toont een gul en geurig bouquet met tonen van cacao, mokka en zwarte bessen. In de mond is hij rijk en zacht met een goede persistentie. Hij gaat heerlijk samen met rood vlees, wild en oude kazen. Absoluut te proberen bij hertenfilet en gegrild rood vlees.
