Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Dit is een eersteklas uitvoering van Saint Emilion, samengesteld uit 80% Merlot en 20% Cabernet Franc, geoogst van een wijngaard in het hart van de beroemde Bordeaux appellatie. De neus is meeslepend met bramen, frambozen, cassis en chocolade, met lagen grafiet, leer en gedroogde kruiden.

    Vieux Chateau Mazerat is één van Jonathan Maltus' uitmuntende Saint Emilion projecten, gelegen net ten oosten van Angélus. Het omvat in totaal 5 hectare, en net als de andere kleinere projecten van Maltus (inclusief Le Carré en Les Asteries), wordt het gefermenteerd en gebotteld in het hoofdkantoor van Chateau Teyssier, op de rechteroever van de Gironde.

    Deze Grand Cru wijn begint met een vlezige, volle smaak, met dichte tannines en levendige zuren. Ondanks zijn grote karakter behoudt hij echter een klassieke zijdezachtheid van de rechteroever. Qua smaak ontdekt u stevige, bevredigende tonen van zwarte kersen, rijpe pruimen en cassis, met sterke secundaire hints van cacao, zoethout, zwarte olijven en mineraliteit van gemalen stenen. Hij eindigt met een aanhoudende, kruidige afdronk. Genietbaar in zijn jeugd, maar kan ook nog 20 jaar of langer rijpen na de botteldatum. Combineer deze wijn met ossobucco, ribstuk of een rijke stoofschotel.
