Set in Mendoza’s high altitude Lujan de Cuyo sub-region, Vina Cobos was founded by legendary Napa Valley winemaker Paul Hobbs and his Argentinian business partners, Andrea Marchiori and Luis Barraud. The Marchiori family have owned vineyards here for decades and the fruit from these old vines grown over a thousand metres above sea level gives the wines of Vina Cobos a luscious rich fruit character balanced by enticing aromatics and freshness.

Felino is the estate’s easygoing, classic line of wines that features delicious examples of international grape varieties like this Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit for this bottling is sourced from Lujan and the Uco Valley where the estate’s vineyards sit at 700 metres and 1200 metres above sea level respectively. Following the harvest the grapes are fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks and then aged in American oak barrels for 8 months.

This relatively short exposure to oak helps to create a fruit-forward, easy-drinking style of wine which is bursting with luscious dark fruit, bitter chocolate and sweet spice notes. On the palate there is a medium body, silky smooth tannins and succulent forest fruit flavours which linger on the tongue.
