    Barolo Wijnen

    Barolo wijnen

    De beroemde rode wijnen van Barolo kunnen alleen worden geproduceerd in specifieke regio's van Piemonte in Noord-Italië van het inheemse druivenras Nebbiolo. Dit ras met dunne schil produceert doorgaans krachtige, volle rode wijnen met veel tannines, heldere zuren en een vrij lichte steenrode tint. Typische smaken en aroma's zijn rode kersen, rozenblaadjes, teer en aromatische gedroogde kruiden.

    Hoe Barolo wordt gemaakt

    Barolo wijnen mogen alleen worden gemaakt in 11 gemeenten in de Langhe regio van Piemonte, waarvan de meest prestigieuze Barolo, La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba en Monforte d'Alba zijn. Nebbiolo is meestal een van de eerste rassen die de bubreak ondergaan en heeft een lang groeiseizoen nodig om volledig te rijpen, zodat de oogst meestal eind oktober plaatsvindt. Alle Barolo wijnen moeten 18 maanden rijpen in houten vaten, met een verplichte totale rijpingsperiode van minstens 38 maanden.

    Barolo bij gerechten

    Barolo wijnen zijn krachtig en intens, en kunnen in hun jeugd bijzonder tanninerijk zijn. Als u een jonge Barolo drinkt, is het een goed idee om hem te combineren met robuuste gerechten zoals rijke wildstoofpotten, rundvleesborst, wild of gerijpte harde kazen. Het aardse en aromatische karakter van Barolo spreekt ook aan bij gerechten met paddenstoelen en truffels.
