A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Drink hem nu of bewaar hem tot 30 jaar in een kelder. Het wordt aanbevolen om de wijn een uur te decanteren.

    Gelegen in het Pomerol gebied, werd Chateau Le Bon Pasteur opgericht in 1920 door Joseph en Hermine Dupuy die het vervolgens doorgaven aan hun kinderen Serge en Geneviève Rolland. In 1978 kwam het landgoed onder de leiding van de broers Michel en Dany Rolland. Vandaag de dag is het landgoed, met ongeveer 6,6 hectare wijngaarden verspreid over 23 percelen, eigendom van de Goldin groep, geleid door Sutong Pan.

    De wijn is voornamelijk een Merlot blend met toevoegingen van Cabernet Franc. De druiven zijn afkomstig van wijngaarden die met duurzame landbouw worden beheerd en gemiddeld ongeveer 40 jaar oud zijn. De gisting vindt plaats in Franse eiken vaten en de afgewerkte wijn rijpt vervolgens 15-18 maanden.

    Chateau Le Bon Pasteur is een evenwichtige en elegante wijn met een fantastisch rijpingsvermogen. De kleur is dicht en diep met levendige paarse reflecties. Het aromatische profiel is rijk en geurig met verfijnde tonen van donker fruit en bloemen en licht kruidige hints. In de mond is hij heerlijk fris en zacht met fluweelzachte en goed geïntegreerde tannines. Hij onthult een aangename fruitige concentratie en een lange, harmonieuze afdronk. Probeer hem bij een sappige steak of laat hem een paar decennia in de kelder staan.
