Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    CVNE, ook bekend als Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, is een familiewijnhuis dat in 1879 werd opgericht door twee broers in de buurt van het treinstation van Haro. Dankzij de strategische ligging, vooral voor het vervoer en dus de marketing van wijnen, is het bedrijf in de loop der jaren flink gegroeid. Vandaag de dag bezit CVNE ongeveer 545 hectare wijngaarden in La Rioja en wordt het geleid door de vijfde generatie van de familie.

    De druiven voor de productie van Monopole Clasico Blanco (Viura en andere inheemse wijnstokken) komen van de ongeveer 15 jaar oude wijngaard gelegen in Villalba de Rioja op een hoogte van meer dan 600 meter en geplant op kalkhoudende grond. De oogst is handmatig en de gisting vindt plaats in stalen tanks. De afgewerkte wijn rust vervolgens ongeveer 8 maanden op de fijne droesem in grote vaten.

    Monopole Clasico Blanco is een wijn met een mooie bleekgouden kleur. Het aromatische profiel is fris en breed met tonen van witte bloemen, perzik, rijpe citrusvruchten, amandelen en een lichte zilte toets. In de mond is hij rijk en zacht, geconcentreerd en met een scherpe zuurgraad. Hij heeft een verrassende mineraliteit en een lange en aanhoudende afdronk. Het is een veelzijdige wijn die goed samengaat met zowel vis als wit vlees.
