David and Nadia are a young winemaking couple who met while studying viticulture and were soon inspired to start their very own winery focused on old vines. They currently lease a farm in Paardebosch in Swartland where they produce around half the grapes required for their wines. The reminder is sourced from carefully-selected local growers who own exceptional sites in the Swartland region.

This enchanting red blend is composed of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan and Pinotage with grapes sourced from 12 different individual vineyards. The couple prefer to let the grapes and the terroir speak for themselves, so the fruit is matured in concrete and neutral Frenck oak barrels for a year prior to bottling. The wine is then aged again in the bottle for 18 months before release.

The result of this minimal interventionist approach is a complex, well-balanced red that’s bursting with intense notes of ripe plum, crushed wild berries, and deeper notes of graphite and forest floor. On the palate there’s a solid medium body, smooth texture, and a long, lingering finish balanced by a fresh streak of acidity. Enjoy now with red meat dishes or cellar for a few more years if desired.
