Derbusco Cives winery was founded in 2005, in the Erbusco comune of Franciacorta. The winery’s five founders never considered settling anywhere else - Erbusco is the beating heart of the region, and home to the best vineyards for producing Franciacorta’s distinctive sparkling wine.

The founders of Derbusco Cives have a unique approach to the Franciacorta method. They refuse to add sugar to their wines, instead relying on the sugar already present in the grapes. They also delay the final stage of disgorgement, allowing their wines to age on lees in the bottle for far longer than usual. Blanc de Blanc is aged for 36 months on the yeasts, improving the structure and giving the wine more time to evolve.

Intoxicating floral aromas emerge from the beginning, along with notes of bergamot, white pepper and lemon peel. Blanc de Blanc is a vibrant straw colour in the glass, with hints of green. This is a 100% Chardonnay sparkling wine. On the palate, it is succulent and lively, imparting flavours of apple, pear and brioche. The finish is lengthy and shows hints of chalk and minerality. Blanc de Blanc will be an excellent companion for fresh cheeses and seafood starters, or it can simply be served as a mouthwatering aperitif.
