Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard is een juweeltje in het hart van Savigny-les-Beaune, een charmant dorpje in de Bourgogne. Jean-Jacques staat nog steeds aan het roer en creëert samen met zijn zoon Victor een stellaire reeks Premier Cru wijnen. Hoewel ze percelen bezitten in de appellations Pommard, Volnay en Corton-Charlemagne, is Savigny-les-Beaune het land dat ze het beste kennen.

    Deze wijn is afkomstig van "Les Lavières", een glooiend perceel met wijnstokken die al in 1943 zijn aangeplant. De naam verwijst naar een soort platte kalksteen die onder de dunne bodem van het terrein ligt. Algemeen beschouwd als een van de beste Premier Cru's in Savigny-les-Beaune, is "Les Lavières" een fantastische plek om te beginnen met het verkennen van de fijne kneepjes van rode Bourgogne wijn.

    De neus van "Les Lavières" valt op door zijn rijke, zomerse karakter, met tonen van framboos, aardbei en cassis. Er is ook een aardse, licht mannelijke kant aan de wijn als geheel, wat typisch is voor deze wijngaard. De vruchten werden 11 maanden op eikenhout gerijpt voordat ze werden gebotteld. In de mond ziet u een mengeling van kersen, aardbeien, bramen en granaatappel. Er zijn kruidenaccenten te vinden, evenals een heerlijke frisse zuurgraad en hints van eikenhout. Geniet er alleen van, of naast coq au vin, filet mignon of een rijke paddenstoelenrisotto.
