Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Nu drinken of tot 12 jaar bewaren. Dunham Cellars, gevestigd in een eigenzinnige vliegtuighangar uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, is een van de meest gevierde kleine familiebedrijven in de prachtige Walla Walla Valley in de staat Washington. Hoewel het wijnhuis pas 25 jaar geleden is begonnen met het produceren van wijn, staat het bekend om zijn krachtige Cabernets en blends in Bordeaux-stijl.

    Deze Cabernet is hun paradepaardje en is gemengd met een beetje Merlot, Malbec en Petit Verdot voor extra complexiteit. Het fruit is afkomstig van hun top landgoed wijngaarden in Walla Walla en de Columbia Valley, waar de omstandigheden ideaal zijn voor het maken van premium wijn. Eenmaal in de wijnmakerij vindt de gisting plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks, gevolgd door rijping in Franse en Amerikaanse eiken vaten voor een langere periode.

    Verwacht overvloedige aroma's van cederhout en kruiden van het eiken, evenals sappige cassis, cranberry en pruimen die blijven hangen in het glas. In de mond is er een robuuste volle body, ondersteund door veel stevige tannines en een goed gebouwde structuur die deze pittige Cab goed zal doen verouderen in de kelder. Geniet nu van stevige gerechten met rood vlees, zoals een ribeye-steak, gegrild vlees of wild, zoals wild en everzwijn.
