Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen in de Californische wijnstreek Santa Ynez Valley, is Jonata Wines eigendom van Stan Kroenke, die ook eigenaar is van The Hilt Estate en Screaming Eagle. Het landgoed beslaat 33 hectare wijngaarden gelegen in Ballard Canyon en beplant met Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah en andere Bordeaux variëteiten. Het bedrijf produceert een serie rode blends zoals El Desafio en Fenix en een interessante dessertwijn op basis van Semillon en Sauvignon Blanc genaamd La Miel. De naam Jonata is geïnspireerd op de Rancho San Carlos de Jonata die in de jaren 1800 een groot deel van de Santa Ynez Valley besloeg.

    Jonata's Todos wijn is een fantastische blend van alle witte en rode druivensoorten die op het landgoed verbouwd worden, met een meerderheid van Syrah. De druiven komen van planten die op zandgrond groeien. Het werk in de wijngaard wordt vakkundig geleid door Ruben Solorzano, terwijl de wijnbereiding wordt geleid door Matt Dees, die wordt beschouwd als een van de meest getalenteerde wijnmakers van dit moment.

    De wijn onthult een geconcentreerd aromatisch profiel met tonen van donker fruit en zwarte peper, wilde kruiden, specerijen en lichte geroosterde en florale hints. In de mond is hij intens en vol met de stevige structuur van de Cabernet Sauvignon en het kruidige karakter van de Syrah. Hij is verfijnd en goed in balans met een lange en aanhoudende afdronk. Perfect bij gegrild rood vlees.
