Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Na in de loop der jaren veel kennis te hebben opgedaan in de wereld van de wijn, besloten Aurelio Montes en zijn partner Douglas Murray in 1987 eindelijk hun eigen kwaliteitswijnen in Chili te gaan vinifiëren. In 1988 kwamen de andere twee partners (Alfredo Vidaurre en Pedro Grand) erbij en samen richtten zij Discover Wine Ltda op, wat later de wereldberoemde Winery Viña Montes werd.

    Montes Alpha M is absoluut een van de grootste rode wijnen in Chili en Zuid-Amerika. Hij is ongelooflijk elegant en verfijnd, en doet denken aan een grote Bordeaux wijn. De druiven worden geteeld in de Viñedo Apalta, in het Santa Cruz gebied, in de Central Valley regio. Deze microregio van Apalta wordt tegenwoordig beschouwd als de beste in Chili voor rode wijnen. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt 18 maanden in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten.

    In het glas schittert deze intense wijn met een heldere intens rode kleur. Het bouquet is heerlijk evenwichtig, elegant en harmonieus. In de neus komen krachtige aroma's vrij van sappige kersen en rijpe zwarte bessen, ondersteund door florale accenten (vooral viooltjes) en kruidige tonen van vanille, bourbon, kaneel. In de mond is hij gestructureerd en vol, ondersteund door weelderige fruittonen van bessen, cassis en kruiden. De afdronk wordt begeleid door rijpe, fluweelzachte en dichte tannines. Geniet van deze uitstekende Chileense rode wijn bij gevulde gebraden eend, gebraden kalkoen of gegrilde biefstuk met gestoofde groenten.
