A beautiful straw colour gives way to an intense nose of ripe exotic fruit mixed with citrus notes and a honeyed touch. The palate shows rich sweetness of lime marmalade, pineapple, honey and exotic floral notes. This wine is unctuous with a full mouth feel, fantastic acidity that stops the wine being flabby, but retaining depth and complexity. The finish is long, lingering and very enjoyable with a honeyed end.
Perfect dessert wine on its own or matches fantastically with fruit desserts, sponge pudding or chocolate tart.

Pegasus Bay Winery prides itself on producing the highest quality fruit with minimal intervention that expresses the terroir and results in stunning wines. Sustainable vineyard management techniques are used including low crop levels and minimal handling of fruit throughout the process. The handpicked fruit (of which 30% is botrytis affected) is cool fermented in stainless steel vats results in a top quality, very interesting wine.

The Pegasus Bay Winery sits in the Waipara Valley which is protected from the cooling effects of the Pacific Ocean by a range of hills. The vines are surrounded by large smooth stones that store heat during the day and prevent the vines getting too cold at night – a little like the pudding stones associated with Beaujolais. With other practices such as natural malolactic fermentation and clarifying wines by settling, the unique area and winemaking practices ensure unusual and very desirable wines.
