Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Remelluri is een prestigieus wijnhuis gelegen in Labastida, in Rioja Alavesa, en sinds 1967 eigendom van de familie Rodríguez. De biologische wijngaarden van het bedrijf strekken zich uit over 100 hectare wijngaard, verdeeld over ongeveer 150 percelen die allemaal apart gevinifieerd worden. De wijngaarden hebben een ideale ligging in terrasvormige amfitheaters op het zuiden, op hoogtes tussen 590 en 805 meter, beschermd tegen de winden en vorst uit het noorden.

    De Rioja Reserva van het Remelluri wijnhuis is een blend van Tempranillo, Garnacha en Graciano met toevoeging van twee witte druiven zoals Viura en Malvasía, die elegantie en balans toevoegen. De druiven worden handmatig geoogst in wijngaarden die volgens het biologische regime worden bewerkt. In de kelder vindt de spontane gisting plaats met inheemse gisten in een mengsel van staal en eikenhout. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt vervolgens 21 maanden in vaten.

    De wijn heeft een heldere en intense kleur met kersenrode tinten. Het aromatische profiel onthult tonen van wilde aardbeien, aromatische kruiden en specerijen. In de mond heeft hij een medium volle body, hij is breed, soepel en elegant. De afdronk is lang en smakelijk. Probeer hem eens met tagliatelle met eekhoorntjesbrood of konijn met kruiden.
