Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    La Ricolma wordt beschouwd als de begeleidende wijn van Percarlo, de signature wijn van San Giusto a Rentennano. Terwijl Percarlo gebaseerd is op Sangiovese, is La Ricolma 100% Merlot die geoogst wordt van de beste wijngaardlocaties. Het vinificatieregime volgt dezelfde normen als Percarlo, maar er worden nog kleinere hoeveelheden van de wijn geproduceerd. Hierdoor denken sommigen dat La Ricolma eigenlijk hun signatuurwijn is.

    In de neus kunt u donkere fruittonen verwachten met een kruidig eiken randje. Bij het proeven begint de wijn met bramen en donkere kersen, gevolgd door heerlijke kruidnagel en vanille. De wijn is 20 tot 22 maanden gerijpt in Franse eiken vaten, wat zorgt voor stevige, maar niet te agressieve tannines. Ze verzachten op de afdronk, vermengen zich mooi met de kruidnagelachtige specerijen en geven een weelderig fluweelachtig gevoel.

    Wanneer u gerechten bij deze wijn serveert, denk dan aan vlees met meer wild, zoals lamsvlees en wild. Grootmoeders klassieke stoofpot van hertenvlees en Italiaans rundvlees zou perfect zijn.

    San Giusto a Rentennano is biologisch gecertificeerd en blijft het grootste deel van hun druiven met de hand oogsten. Ze produceren ook een Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva en Vin Santo, die zeer gewaardeerd worden.

    Er zijn slechts een beperkt aantal kisten gemaakt.
