This graceful single varietal Sauvignon Blanc opens with inviting aromas of roses, elderberries, peaches and sage leaves, while the palate offers passion fruit, nectarine and hints of Mediterranean herbs and salty minerality. Full bodied and bursting with fresh acidity, the Vette di San Leonardo is an elegant dining companion which will perfectly complement smoked and pan-fried fish, chicken, or a selection of soft cheeses.

The Vette takes its name from the majestic mountain peaks of the Dolomites which form a breathtaking backdrop to the estate and help to shield its vines from cold winds. The grapes used in this wine are carefully harvested by hand once they reach optimum ripeness and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine then spends 5 months ageing on the lees with frequent battonage to add extra complexity and a rich creamy texture to the finished wine.

The historic San Leonardo property has seen many important milestones during its long history including the agreement of the preliminary armistice which marked the end of the First World War at Villa Gresti on the estate. During the 19th century they even supplied wine to the Austrian court under the moniker “Chateau St Leonard”.
