Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen in de stad Lanciego, maakt Bodega Lanzaga deel uit van de Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodriguez. De groep werd opgericht in 1994 en na een snelle uitbreiding aan het eind van de jaren 90 vonden Telmo Rodriguez en zijn partners enkele ideale percelen voor de productie van Rioja-wijn. Vandaag de dag strekt Bodega Lanzaga zich uit over ongeveer 15 hectare land en worden de wijngaarden biologisch verbouwd.

    De wijn is een blend van Tempranillo, Graciano en Garnacha druiven die handmatig worden geoogst van biologisch geteelde struikstokken op een hoogte tussen 500 en 700 meter op zandige bodems met zandsteen. De gisting vindt spontaan plaats met inheemse gisten en de afgewerkte wijn rust 14 maanden op hout.

    De wijn onthult een extreem breed en complex aromatisch profiel. Er zijn intense aroma's van zwarte kersen, aalbessen en moerbeien en dan aromatische kruiden, zoethout en hints van chocolade. In de mond is hij diep en geconcentreerd met een duidelijke minerale ader en een levendige zuurgraad. De tannines zijn stevig maar perfect rijp. De afdronk is lang, aangenaam en aanhoudend en roept opnieuw tonen van zwarte kersen op. Probeer deze wijn bij lamsvlees, geroosterd rood vlees, wild of oude Manchego kaas.
