Vasse Felix was Margaret River’s very first winery, established in 1962 by the visionary Dr Tom Cullity, and today it has an international reputation for top quality Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The estate boasts four prime vineyards spread across the region and adopts a minimal intervention approach in the winery wherever possible. This helps to showcase the beauty of the local terroir which features a Mediterranean-style climate cooled by the Indian and Southern Oceans.

This classic Chardonnay is made from hand-harvested fruit sourced from selected estate vineyards. The grapes are carefully pressed and fermented in French oak barrels using wild yeasts found naturally in the winery. The parcels are vinified separately and aged on the lees in the barrel for 9 months with regular battonage or lees stirring.

Luscious mango, green apple and buttery pastry notes define the nose while the first sip reveals a rich full body, creamy texture and vibrant tropical fruit flavours which linger on the tongue. The powerful flavour profile makes this a great Chardonnay to match with food; good pairings include chicken or fish served in a creamy sauce, mature cheeses, or rich pasta dishes served with a white sauce.
