The story of Vinos Sanz begins back in 1870 when a local family from La Seca close to the Douro river decided to found a winery dedicated to the then almost-unknown indigenous Verdejo grape. In 1980 D.O. or Denomination of Origin of Rueda was created in 1980 in recognition of the quality and unique properties of the Verdejo grape grown in this region. This was the cue for Vinos Sanz to take their already well-respected winemaking to the next level by investing in new facilities and the latest technology and viticultural techniques.

These days the estate is in the hands of the sixth generation of the family and it enjoys a prestigious reputation as the oldest winery in Rueda. Their Montesol Rueda is a typical local white blend made with 70% Verdejo and 30% Viura sourced from the estate’s sunniest vineyard plots.

playful, light-hearted wine exudes fresh fruit aromas of lemon zest, white peaches and hints of mango which transform into pineapple, nectarine and dried herbs on the palate. Thanks to the racy acidity, this is an ideal bottle to pair with grilled fish, fruits de mer or even a traditional Spanish seafood paella.
