Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Rood en blauw fruit mengen zich in de neus van deze elegante Pinot Noir. Geuren van aarde, wild en warme specerijen blijven hangen, hintend naar het hartige karakter. De druiven zijn afkomstig van de Escaroth wijngaard (genoemd naar "lake town" uit The Hobbit) in Marlborough, Nieuw-Zeeland, waar wijnstokken met een lage opbrengst groeien op oude kleiafzettingen.

    Blank Canvas is een van de beste boetiekwijnhuizen van Nieuw-Zeeland, dat zich richt op kleine partijen single-vineyard wijnen. Het werd in 2013 opgericht door Matt Thomson en Sophie Parker-Thomson, respectievelijk een Master of Science en een Master of Wine, met een gedeelde passie voor de regio Marlborough. In 2023 werd Blank Canvas door The Real Review uitgeroepen tot de beste wijnmakerij in Marlborough, waarmee het als een "must-watch" producent voor de komende jaren werd aangemerkt.

    Escaroth is een verfijnde, gracieuze en diep hartige wijn, boordevol tonen van granaatappel, rode kers en kruiden. De wijn rijpte 12 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten, waardoor de wijn een geroosterde onderstroom en een structuur van fijnkorrelige tannines heeft. Hints van gedroogde rozemarijn en mineraliteit van de bodem loeren onder het oppervlak en de hele ervaring wordt aangedreven door een strakke zuurgraad. Overweeg om Escaroth te combineren met een gegrild lamsrack, groentetagine of paddenstoelenrisotto.
