Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Randall Grahm studeerde aanvankelijk filosofie voordat hij verliefd werd op wijn en een diploma wijnbouw haalde aan de UC Davis. In 1983 richtte hij Bonny Doon op in een klein gehucht met dezelfde naam in de Santa Cruz Mountains in Californië en drukte al snel zijn stempel op de lokale wijnwereld. Tegenwoordig wordt hij liefkozend de "Rhone Ranger" genoemd vanwege zijn onvermoeibare inzet om klassieke Rhônedruiven in de Verenigde Staten te introduceren.

    De wijnbouwfilosofie van Bonny Doon is waar mogelijk gericht op druiven van topkwaliteit en minimale interventie in de wijnmakerij, zodat de schoonheid van het terroir en de druivensoorten tot hun recht komen. Hun Le Cigare Blanc is een complexe witte blend in Rhône-stijl, samengesteld uit Grenache Blanc- en Roussanne-druiven die biologisch-dynamisch worden verbouwd. De most wordt vergist in oude 60 liter vaten met regelmatige omroering van de droesem terwijl de wijn rijpt.

    Mooie witte perzik en abrikoos, evenals hints van bijenwas, lavendel en kweepeer bepalen de neus, terwijl de eerste slok veel heldere citrus, rijpe peren en hints van venkel onthult. De goed afgeronde textuur en gemiddelde body maken dit een geweldige match voor gerechten als gebraden kip of vis geserveerd in een rijke romige saus of groentegratins.
