A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Drink hem nu of bewaar hem tot 15 jaar. Niet nodig om te decanteren, maar het beste is om hem een half uur voor het serveren te openen.

    Het wijnhuis Caparsa ligt in Radda in Chianti, in een van de mooiste wijnbouwgebieden van de provincie Siena en de regio Toscane, en werd in 1965 gekocht door Reginaldo Cianferoni, hoogleraar economie en landbouwbeleid. Paolo Cianferoni, met zijn partner Gianna en hun vijf kinderen, leidt nu het bedrijf dat biologisch gecertificeerd is en witte, rode, rosé en zoete wijnen van inheemse druiven en Extra Virgin Olive Oil produceert en ook een kleine accommodatie heeft.

    Caparsino Riserva is een van de belangrijkste wijnen van het bedrijf Caparsa, gemaakt van Sangiovese druiven en twee jaar gerijpt in grote vaten.

    De wijn heeft een schoon en fris aromatisch profiel met zoete fruitige aroma's, vermengd met aromatische kruiden en bloemen. In de mond toont hij alle zoetheid van rijp fruit dankzij een oogst op het juiste moment, wanneer de druiven volledig rijp zijn. De wijn valt echter nog steeds op door zijn uitgesproken zuurgraad en zachte tannines. Het is een sappige en boeiende wijn, die een laatste sensatie van frisheid en balsamico in de mond achterlaat. Probeer hem eens bij gegrild rundvlees of gebraden lamsvlees met aromatische kruiden.
