Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gesticht in 1904 ten noordwesten van Reims, in het hart van het Saint-Thierry massief, wordt het Champagnehuis Cuillier nu gerund door Patrick Cuillier en zijn zoon Vincent, die in 2020 ook twee cuvées onder zijn naam lanceerde, naast de 6 cuvées van de wijnmakerij. Het domein beslaat ongeveer 6,5 hectare wijngaarden in Pouillon, Chenay en Trigny, in het Marnegebied.

    La Grande Réserve is een elegante en evenwichtige champagne gemaakt met een klassieke blend van Pinot Noir, Meunier en Chardonnay in gelijke delen. De druiven worden handmatig geselecteerd en geoogst en de wijn rijpt 48 maanden in de kelder op zijn droesem.

    De wijn heeft een intens gouden kleur, versterkt door een fijne en persistente perlage. In de neus onthult hij een rijp en complex aromatisch profiel met tonen van appel, peer en gedroogd fruit, gevolgd door hints van honing en brioche. In de mond is hij rond en mineraal, levendig en fris met een hartige toets en een goede smaakconcentratie. De bubbels geven het een romige en fluweelachtige textuur. De afdronk is lang en doet denken aan tonen van exotisch fruit. Hij gaat heerlijk samen met gegrilde reuzengarnalen en gebakken sint-jakobsschelpen.
