    Gelegen in Epernay, waar het in 1849 werd opgericht, is Pol Roger een van de historische en meest prestigieuze Champagnehuizen. Sinds 1975 produceert het bedrijf een cuvée die vernoemd is naar Winston Churchill, een groot bewonderaar van zijn wijnen en een goede vriendin van Maurice Pol Roger's schoondochter Odette.

    Deze elegante vintage champagne is een blend van een meerderheid van Pinot Noir met toevoegingen van Chardonnay. De druiven zijn geselecteerd uit de beste wijngaarden in respectievelijk de Montagne Des Reims en de Cote Des Blancs. De rosékleur komt van de toevoeging van 15% rode wijn van Pinot Noir, vóór de tweede gisting in de fles. De afgewerkte wijn rust vervolgens ongeveer 7 jaar op de droesem. De lange rijping geeft de wijn rijkdom en diepte.

    Champagne Pol Roger Rose Vintage onthult een levendige kleur met heldere roze tinten en een fijn en persistent perlage. In de neus is het aromatische profiel geurig met sappig rood fruit zoals wilde aardbeien en frambozen en boter- en vanilletonen. In de mond is hij energiek en intens met een mooie romige consistentie en een uitgesproken zuurgraad die het geheel in evenwicht brengt. De afdronk is lang en elegant. Het is de wijn bij uitstek voor een sushi diner of bij een risotto met zeevruchten.
