A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Opgericht in 1729 in Reims, heeft Maison Ruinart zich altijd onderscheiden als een bedrijf dat sterk gericht is op innovatie en respect voor traditie. Tegenwoordig is aandacht voor milieuproblemen een van de pijlers van de bedrijfsfilosofie, die veel moeite doet om de ecologische voetafdruk van verpakkingen te verkleinen. De nieuwe Ruinart Second Skin recyclebare koffer is gemaakt van 100% papier en is negen keer lichter dan de vorige verpakking. Gemaakt volgens strenge milieunormen en gemodelleerd naar het iconische profiel van de Ruinart fles, herinnert de krijtachtige textuur aan de muren van de oude Champagnekelders.

    Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is een topklasse Champagne, gemaakt van een 100% Chardonnay blend van verschillende jaargangen. De druiven komen voornamelijk van Premiers Crus wijngaarden van de Côte des Blancs en Montagne de Reims, beroemd om hun aromatische finesse, met kleine toevoegingen van Sézannais wijnen die bekend staan om hun rondheid.

    De kleur is goudkleurig en extreem helder. De neus onthult rijpe en levendige citrustonen, gevolgd door aroma's van witte bloemen en steenfruit. In de mond is hij zacht en harmonieus, rond en heerlijk fris. De afdronk is mineraal, lang en verfrissend. Het is een perfecte Champagne voor een aperitief, maar hij past uitstekend bij alle zeevruchten, schelpdieren en vistartaar.
