    Het Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is sinds 1987 eigendom van de familie Gervoson en ligt in het hart van Pessac Léognan, in de Bordeaux-wijnstreek. Het domein strekt zich uit over ongeveer 72 hectare land, met wijnstokken van gemiddeld 25 tot 30 jaar oud, aangeplant op overwegend kiezelachtige grond. Mede dankzij het advies van Michel Rolland wordt Château Larrivet Haut-Brion beschouwd als een van de meest prestigieuze in Pessac Leognan.

    De wijn is een blend van Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot en Cabernet Franc. Na gisting in roestvrijstalen vaten en een maceratieperiode van 3 tot 5 weken rijpt de afgewerkte wijn 18 maanden in eikenhouten vaten (50% nieuw).

    Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is een donkerrode wijn met een intens en complex aromatisch profiel. De neus onthult geurige aroma's van rijp rood fruit, vooral kersen en rijpe aardbeien, gevolgd door hints van bloemen, koffie en tabak. In de mond is hij rond en vol. Hij heeft een sterke zuurgraad en fijne tannines. De afdronk is lang en aanhoudend en doet denken aan rokerige tonen. Het is een elegante wijn, klaar om nu te drinken met een gegrilde steak, maar kan ook een tijdje in de kelder blijven om te evolueren.
