Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De Marlborough wijnregio is zonder twijfel het epicentrum van de wijnproductie in Nieuw-Zeeland. De lichtrode geparfumeerde Dog Point Pinot Noir is afkomstig van de wijnhuizen in deze regio. Hij drukt de onschatbare kwaliteit van de Pinot Noir-druiven en de passie van de wijnmakers uit. Het partnerschap van James en Wendy Healy met Ivan en Margaret Sutherland heeft grote invloed gehad op de kwaliteit en normen van de geproduceerde wijn.

    Het aroma bevat levendige tonen van rode roos, lavendel, droge kruidige ondertonen, bosbes en bruine kaneel naast een diepe romigheid. De vorstelijke ruggengraat is een verleidelijke smaak van zachte tannines gekoppeld aan weelderig fruit en een lange aardse afdronk. Delicate zuren dragen de rijke, intense smaken over de tong en dragen bij aan een complexe, evenwichtige structuur. Deze wijn is een typische Marlborough Pinot Noir met zijn verfijning.

    Voor het handmatig sorteren worden de Pinot Noir druiven met de hand geplukt en de hele nacht gekoeld. Een deel van de druiven wordt met de volle steel geoogst, terwijl driekwart wordt ontsteeld. Met behulp van gist ondergaan de druiven een gisting van 21 dagen, waarna ze worden geperst en opgeslagen in Franse eikenhouten vaten, waar ze bijna anderhalf jaar rijpen. Botteling vindt daarna plaats zonder klaring. Ideaal als hij 2 tot 3 uur wordt belucht. Heerlijk bij vleesdelicatessen en vette vis.
