Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Gelegen in de Côte de Nuits, is Domaine Charles Audoin een familiebedrijf opgericht in de jaren 1970, dat een fundamentele rol heeft gespeeld in het succes van de wijnen van de Marsannay appellatie. Het domein, dat zich uitstrekt over 14 hectare wijngaarden, wordt tegenwoordig geleid door Cyril Audoin, de zoon van Charles, die het werk van zijn vader voortzet door uiterst elegante wijnen te produceren. Sinds 2018 is het bedrijf biologisch gecertificeerd.

    De Marsannay Rosé van Domaine Charles Audoin is gemaakt van 100% Pinot Noir druiven. Het is een ronde, fijne en frisse wijn met een heldere en duidelijke kleur. Het aromatische profiel is levendig met tonen van framboos en citrusvruchten, verse rode bessen en geurige rozenblaadjes. In de mond is hij dorstlessend en fruitig, met een sterke zuurgraad en een goede structuur. Hij is sappig en heeft een lange afdronk met minerale tonen.

    Het is een wijn om meteen op te drinken, maar hij kan ook een paar jaar in de kelder blijven. Op tafel is hij zeer veelzijdig: hij gaat heerlijk samen met gerookt vlees, zoals kalfsvlees of varkensvlees, eendenborst met sinaasappel, krab of delicate vis, zoals rode mul. Hij past perfect bij vegetarische gerechten uit de mediterrane keuken en bij enkele licht pittige oosterse recepten.
