    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Dominio del Aguila werd opgericht door Jorge Monzon en zijn vrouw Isabel Rodero die besloten hun enthousiasme te combineren om wijnen van hoge kwaliteit te creëren. Het landgoed heeft 30 hectare zeer oude biologisch geteelde wijngaarden. Jorge, die uit een familie van wijnbouwers komt, studeerde wijnbouw en oenologie in Bordeaux en Bourgondië en werkte bij het Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Grupo Vega Sicilia en Bodegas Arzuaga. Tempranillo is de hoofdrolspeler in hun wijngaarden, maar er zijn ook andere inheemse rassen zoals Bobal, Garnacha en Albillo.

    De Reserva is afkomstig van een blend van Tempranillo, Blanca del Pais, Garnacha en Bobal van oude hooggelegen wijngaarden, tussen 800 en 900 meter boven de zeespiegel, in de gemeente La Aguilera. De druiven worden geoogst met een strenge selectie van de beste trossen en vervolgens gefermenteerd met inheemse gisten in cementvaten. De wijn rijpt 35 maanden in Franse eiken vaten en wordt vervolgens gebotteld zonder klaring of filtering.

    Deze elegante rode wijn is expressief, complex en fris. In de neus verrast hij met aangename aroma's van rijp rood en zwart fruit en tonen van spontane kruiden. In de mond toont hij intensiteit en structuur met een zijdezachte consistentie. De fruitige tonen worden gecombineerd met sappige tannines en een lange en aanhoudende afdronk.

    Het is klaar om nu van te genieten, maar kan ook iets langer in de kelder blijven liggen. Drink hem bij rood vlees of langzaam gebraden lamsbout.

    The Reserva comes from a blend of Tempranillo, Blanca del Pais, Garnacha, and Bobal from old high-altitude vineyards, between 800 and 900 meters above sea level, in the municipality of La Aguilera.
