Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Eastern Peake Vineyard is een biologisch wijnhuis van de familie Latta, gelegen in Ballarat in de wijnregio Victoria in Zuid-Australië. De wijnen weerspiegelen sterk de aanpak van de getalenteerde wijnbouwer Owen Latta, die de voorkeur geeft aan wijnen in een langzamer tempo en oude wereldstijl, minder fruitig en met een sterker en meer gestructureerd karakter.

    Intrinsic Pinot Noir wordt gemaakt met druiven van wijnstokken tussen de 27 en 40 jaar oud, geplant op grijze klei- en vulkanische bodems op basalt, gelegen op ongeveer 430 m boven zeeniveau. Zoals bij alle wijnen van Eastern Peake vindt er na de oogst een spontane gisting plaats met inheemse gisten. De wijn rust vervolgens ongeveer 6 maanden in barriques van 228 liter voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    De wijn heeft een heldere kleur met paarsrode tinten. In de neus onthult hij een breed en intens aromatisch profiel met tonen van zure kers, framboos en braam, gevolgd door hints van munt en salieblaadjes. In de mond is hij fris en lineair. Hij heeft een duidelijke zuurgraad en stevige tannines. Het is een frisse en levendige wijn met een elegante en licht kruidige afdronk. Hij past uitstekend bij eend, wild en varkensvlees.
