Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Het dorp Pereta in het zuiden van Toscane wordt overzien door twee heuvels, die de naam "Le Pupille" geven - twee ogen die over het dorp kijken, en de velden met rijpe Sangiovese in de gaten houden. Elisabetta Geppetti is de beheerder van deze 75 hectare wijngaard en gebruikt haar deskundige kennis om een reeks volstrekt tijdloze Toscaanse wijnen te produceren.

    Morellino di Scansano is de belichaming van het wijnhuis zelf - het biedt een klassieke smaak van Italië terwijl het een paar regels breekt. Deze Super Tuscan is gemaakt van 90% Sangiovese en 10% Cillegiolo en Alicante. De druiven zijn afkomstig van verschillende uitstekende percelen rond het dorp Pereta, wat een prachtig uitgebalanceerde weergave is van de productie van Fattoria Le Pupille.

    Morellino di Scansano begint met een prachtige neus van kersen, balsamico, pioenroos en rozenblaadjes, die het pittoreske landschap oproept waar hij vandaan komt. Na enige tijd ademen onthult de neus ook tonen van kaneel en kruidnagel, met meer uitgesproken geuren van rode bessen. In de mond mondt deze wijn uit in een frisse, volle ervaring, vol met smaken van bramen, Marasco-kersen, leer en chocolade. De tannines zijn soepel en sappig. Om het volledige potentieel van deze wijn te ontsluiten, combineert u hem met wildvlees, olijven of een rijke tomatenstoofpot.
