    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Kan tot 25 jaar bewaard worden. De Fontalloro is een klassieke expressie van de Sangiovese druif die liefdevol wordt geproduceerd door een van de beste landgoederen van Toscane. De druiven die worden gebruikt voor de samenstelling van deze wijn zijn afkomstig van de wijngaarden van het landgoed langs de grens van de Chianti Classico en de Chianti Colli Senesi appellations.

    Terwijl de Chianti Classico wijngaarden op de hoogste hoogte liggen van alle percelen van Felsina, liggen die in de Colli Senesi op een lagere hoogte en bieden een andere kant van de Sangiovese druif. Na de handmatige oogst van de druiven in de herfst wordt de wijn gefermenteerd in roestvrijstalen tanks en vervolgens gerijpt in nieuwe en tweedehandse Franse eiken vaten gedurende maximaal 22 maanden. De uiteindelijke blend wordt dan samengesteld en de wijn rijpt nog eens 12 maanden in de fles voordat hij wordt vrijgegeven.

    Het resultaat is een fascinerende complexe Sangiovese die opent met hints van gedroogde mediterrane kruiden, tabak, zwarte bessen en aarde. De eerste slok onthult soepele tannines, een stevige structuur en intense smaken van donkere kersen, zoethout en oregano die lang in de mond blijven hangen. De evenwichtige zuurgraad, het gedurfde smaakprofiel en de uitstekende structuur maken dit een ideale kandidaat voor langere kelderrijping in de komende tien jaar.
