A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Het jonge Israëlische wijnhuis Five Stones is gevestigd in de Judean Hills regio, en meer precies in het betoverende landschap van de Elah Vallei, de plaats waar de mythologische strijd tussen David en Goliath plaatsvond. Hier produceert het bedrijf, geleid door Ilan Hasson, in samenwerking met wijnmaker Sasson Ben Aharon en de andere partners Shmuel en Yair Tamir, Ofra Ganor, Amit Kaufman en Avinoam Lerner, heerlijke Kosher wijnen van internationale druivenrassen.

    De witte D vs G is een levendige blend van Sauvignon Blanc en Gewürztraminer druiven. Dit instapmodel is vernoemd naar David en Goliath en bevat ook een rode en een rosé wijn.

    Deze levendige wijn heeft een heldere strogele kleur en onthult een geurig en zoet aromatisch profiel met tonen van lychee en witte bloemen, gemaaid gras, wat minerale hints en wit fruit. In de mond is hij fris en evenwichtig, licht en mager. Het is een aangename en gemakkelijk te drinken wijn met een verfrissende en levendige afdronk. Serveer hem gekoeld voor een uitstekend zomers aperitief, of probeer hem bij vegetarische en op vis gebaseerde recepten, zoals tomatentaartjes, mosselen en kokkelspaghetti of Thaise gerechten.
