Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Francis Ford Coppola Winery is opgericht door de gelijknamige filmlegende. Francis Ford Coppola is al 30 jaar een fervent wijnverzamelaar. Zijn doel met het wijnhuis in Sonoma County was het creëren van een gezinsvriendelijke omgeving, een plek waar eten, entertainment en vooral fantastische wijn samenkomen.

    In 2006 kocht Francis Ford Coppola Chateau Souverain in de Alexander Valley AVA en renoveerde het volledig. De familie Coppola is geen onbekende in de wijnbouw. De grootvader van Francis Ford, Agostino Coppola, maakte zijn eigen zelfgebrouwen wijn in de kelder van zijn appartement in New York.

    De Diamond Collection toont wijn die ideaal is voor elke gelegenheid, met druiven uit heel Californië en Oregon. De Coppola Claret is het hoogtepunt van het assortiment, een diepe, weelderige Bordeaux-stijl blend. De neus straalt een rijk boeket uit van bosvruchten, geroosterde noten, karamel en tabak. Het leeuwendeel van de blend bestaat uit cabernet sauvignon, aangevuld met delen petit verdot, merlot en petite sirah. Hij heeft een verfijnd profiel, een volle body en soepele tannines. Het gehemelte zit vol met bosbessen, cassis en geruststellende tonen van koffie en cacao. Deze wijn past uitstekend bij een risotto met paddenstoelen of een kruidig lamsrack.
