Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gebaseerd in Rutherford, in het hart van Napa Valley, is Quilt een wijnhuis opgericht door wijnmaker Joseph Wagner dat zich richt op de productie van wijnen op basis van Cabernet Sauvignon en Chardonnay. De druiven van Cab Sav zijn afkomstig van een reeks eersteklas wijngaarden uit Napa Valley, die zich voornamelijk op de bodem van de vallei bevinden, aangevuld met druiven uit de hoger gelegen gebieden. De Chardonnay druiven daarentegen komen voornamelijk uit Carneros. Het bedrijf produceert 4 labels: Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Fabric of the Land, een rode blend op basis van Merlot, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel en Petit Verdot, en Chardonnay.

    De Cabernet Sauvignon druiven, afkomstig van verschillende wijngaarden in Oakville, St. Helena, Atlas Peak, Coombsville, Calistoga en Howell Mountain, worden apart gevinifieerd en gemacereerd.

    De wijn heeft een diepe kleur met steenrode tinten en pruimkleurige nuances. De neus onthult intense aroma's van crème de cassis, cacao, bramen en cranberry jam, met hints van donkere drop en zoete kruiden. Ook in de mond is de wijn rijk, diep en geconcentreerd met kruidige en jamachtige smaken, fluweelzachte tannines en een volle body. De afdronk is aanhoudend en herinnert aan zoete specerijen. Perfect bij een sappige steak of een stevige lasagne bolognese.
