Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Als telg uit een familie van wijnmakers met een eeuwenoude traditie in de Bourgogne, richtte Francois Carillon in 2010 zijn eigen wijnmakerij op, waarbij hij het familiebedrijf verliet en de wijngaarden met zijn broer deelde. Vandaag de dag bezit Domaine Francois Carillon ongeveer 16 hectare wijngaarden in Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet en Saint-Aubin, en zijn wijnen worden zeer geprezen door critici en het publiek. Het logo van het bedrijf verwijst naar het jaar 1611, een datum die op een steen in een van de kelders van het domein is gegraveerd.

    Aligoté druiven worden geselecteerd en met de hand geplukt van meer dan vijftig jaar oude wijngaarden in Puligny-Montrachet en Coupeau op klei-kalksteen bodems. De gisting en rijping vinden plaats in vaten (10% nieuw), en de afgewerkte wijn rust een jaar voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    Francois Carillon's Bourgogne Aligoté is een wijn met een intense en briljante kleur en goudgele tinten. Het aromatische profiel is geurig en elegant, met citrustonen van grapefruit en sappig tropisch fruit. In de mond is hij fris en verkwikkend met een goede structuur en een goed uitgebalanceerde zuurgraad. Het is een verrassend stijlvolle Aligoté die op zichzelf een uitstekend aperitief is, maar ook heerlijk combineert met schelpdieren, slakken en vegetarische quiches.
