A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Gesticht in 2010, is Domaine François Carillon een van de meest gerenommeerde wijnhuizen in de Côte de Beaune. De familie Carillon is al meer dan 5 eeuwen bekend in Puligny Montrachet, en Francois heeft een aantal jaar in het familiebedrijf gewerkt voordat hij besloot zijn eigen project te beginnen en de familiewijngaarden met zijn broer te delen. Vandaag de dag strekt zijn domein zich uit over 16 hectare prachtige wijngaarden, waar Chardonnay (90%), Aligoté en Pinot Noir worden verbouwd.

    Deze prachtige Puligny Montrachet is gemaakt van Chardonnay druiven afkomstig van de 1er cru Les Enseignères wijngaard gelegen net onder de Grand Cru Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet op klei en kalksteen bodems. Na de handmatige oogst en vinificatie in eikenhouten vaten rust de wijn ongeveer 6 maanden in vaten, voordat hij wordt gebotteld volgens de biologisch-dynamische kalender.

    Deze wijn is typisch Puligny Montrachet en heeft een intens en breed aromatisch profiel met tonen van roze grapefruit, kumquat en honing, gevolgd door minerale tonen. In de mond is hij diep en rond, geconcentreerd en uiterst elegant, met een lange en aanhoudende afdronk en een stevig en nobel karakter. Het is de perfecte wijn bij kip suprême, geroosterde witte vis of kreeft.
