    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Deze Cabernet Sauvignon begint met een opvallend bloemige neus van viooltjes, frambozenblad, laurier en tabak. Fruitige hints van kersen, rode bessen en cassis zitten stevig op de achtergrond. Het is een referentievoorbeeld van Australische cabernet sauvignon, geoogst van oude wijnstokken.

    De familie Henschke is een van Australië's grootste wijndynastieën, met een geschiedenis die teruggaat tot de 19e eeuw. Ze zijn nu in hun zesde generatie van wijnmaken, onder leiding van Johann Stephen Henschke. De vruchten voor deze krachtige rode wijn werden geoogst van een wijngaard op het noorden, die in 1988 werd aangeplant door Johanns ouders, Stephen en Prue. De naam gaat zelfs nog verder terug, naar Johanns grootvader die van rode wijn hield, Cyril Henschke.

    De Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon is diep paarsrood in het glas, doordrenkt met fijne, fluweelzachte tannines en frisse zuren. Klassieke tonen van zure pruimen en zoethout vermengen zich met rijke vegetale tonen van geroosterde peper, groene kruiden en zwarte olijf. Een verrukkelijke afdronk onthult Cabernettonen van eucalyptus en munt. Deze wijn heeft een sterk frame en zal ongetwijfeld prachtig rijpen. Een perfecte keuze voor wie op zoek is naar een interessant alternatief voor Franse of Californische Cabernet Sauvignon van topkwaliteit. Combineer deze wijn met rijke vleesgerechten, zoals lamsvlees met kruidenkorst, stoofpot van rundvlees of biefstuk.
