Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Italiaanse wijnen

    In Italië wordt al minstens 3000 jaar wijn gemaakt, en vandaag de dag is het land de grootste wijnproducent ter wereld. De lokale Etrusken en Griekse kolonisten waren de eersten die hier wijnstokken plantten, gevolgd door de Romeinen die in de 2e eeuw voor Christus begonnen met het maken van wijn. Italiaanse wijnen zijn doorgaans zeer eetvriendelijk en passen perfect bij de heerlijke pastagerechten van het land, stevige stoofpotten met wild en rood vlees en verse zeevruchten van de kust.     Belangrijke Italiaanse wijngebieden

    In heel Italië wordt wijn geproduceerd en het land telt 77 wettelijk vastgelegde appellations of regio's die het label DOCG (gecontroleerde en gegarandeerde oorsprongsbenaming) krijgen. Producenten moeten strikte regels volgen om hun wijnen onder deze Italiaanse wijnbenamingen te etiketteren, wat helpt om hoge kwaliteitsnormen in het hele land te handhaven. Belangrijke Italiaanse wijngebieden voor rode wijnen zijn de Piemonte in het noorden, waar Barolo en Barbaresco vandaan komen, Veneto, bekend om zijn Amarone, en Toscane in Midden-Italië. Voor witte wijnen kunt u kijken naar wijngebieden in Italië zoals Soave in Veneto, Le Marche voor Verdicchio en het eiland Sardinië voor Vermentino.

    Italiaanse druivenrassen

    Inheemse Italiaanse wijnsoorten variëren van de krachtige Nebbiolo waarvan Barolo wordt gemaakt tot etherische en verfrissende witte wijnen zoals Pinot Grigio, Verdicchio en Garganega waarvan Soave wordt gemaakt. Andere Italiaanse topwijnen die men kent zijn de iconische Sangiovese uit Toscane die in het hele land wordt verbouwd, de bescheiden Glera-druif die wordt gebruikt om Prosecco te maken, en Primitivo, Negroamaro en Aglianico die krachtige rode wijnen maken in de zuidelijke regio's Basilicata en Puglia.
