Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Geniet er nu van of bewaar hem enkele jaren in een kelder. U hoeft niet te decanteren voor het serveren.

    Dit is een heldere Italiaanse witte wijn met een bleke, doorschijnende strokleur en groenige ruiten. Bij het openen onthult hij delicate aroma's van witte bloemen, groene appel, tropisch fruit en pure citroen, aangevuld met hints van vijg en rood fruit. Deze wijn is gemaakt van 100% Cortese druiven, afkomstig uit de Gavi DOCG regio in Piemonte, en specifiek uit de steile heuvels van Rovereto Superiore.

    La Scolca landgoed werd in 1919 overgenomen door de familie Soldati, met de bedoeling om de inheemse Cortese druif aan te planten in een regio die historisch bekend stond om rode druiven. Vandaag de dag wordt het gerund door Giorgio en zijn dochter Chiara, de derde en vierde generatie Soldati wijnmakers die in het hart van Gavi hebben gewerkt.

    In de mond is Il Valentino levendig en precies, met een rijk gevoel in de mond. Hij biedt smaken van citroen, groene appel en mango, gevolgd door gedroogde mediterrane kruiden en een subtiele minerale afdronk. Dit is een perfecte keuze voor liefhebbers van vriendelijke, gulle witte wijnen. Dankzij de frisse zuren en evenwichtige structuur past hij perfect bij lichte kazen, groente-aperitieven en romige pastasauzen.
