Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Gelegen in de vruchtbare Kakheti wijnregio in het oosten van Georgië, produceert het wijnhuis van de familie Lomtadze wijnen van hoge kwaliteit, bekend over de hele wereld en bekroond in verschillende internationale competities. Het bedrijf, opgericht in de 20e eeuw, bezit wijngaarden van ongeveer 2 hectare en verbouwt inheemse Georgische druiven op biologische wijze. In de kelder worden de wijnen gevinifieerd met behulp van klassieke technieken en oude, traditionele methoden.

    Lomtadze Family Wine Tetra Qvevri wordt geproduceerd met druiven van de inheemse Tsulukidzis Tetra druivensoort uit de Georgische regio Racha. Na de oogst vindt de gisting plaats in ondergrondse terracotta vaten met een puntige bodem, traditioneel Qvevri genoemd. Het bedrijf bewaart nog steeds voorbeelden van deze amforen uit de 20e eeuw in de kelder.

    De wijn heeft een heldere gouden kleur en een geurig en breed aromatisch profiel met tonen van tropisch fruit, zoals ananas en meloen, peer en perzik, witte bloemen en dan vegetale, citrus en honing hints. In de mond is hij zijdezacht en elegant met een subtiele zoete toets en een goed uitgebalanceerde zuurgraad. De tannines zijn zacht en zacht en de afdronk is lang en licht citrusachtig. Hij past uitstekend bij kruidige oosterse gerechten.
