    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Montes Alpha is een van de merken van Montes Winery, met een topassortiment Chileense wijn. Het is al meer dan 30 jaar actief, vanuit de O'Higgins provincie in Centraal-Chili, dicht bij het beroemde wijngebied Colchagua Valley.

    Deze Special Cuvee is een Franse medley, samengesteld uit Cabernet Sauvignon met spatten Syrah en Carménère. Allen zijn geteeld in de Colchagua Valley regio. De Cabernet Sauvignon druiven (die het grootste deel van de blend uitmaken) zijn afkomstig van de appellation Marchigüe, een relatief koel terroir bedekt met weelderig groen, dat leidt tot intens fruitige wijnen.

    De Special Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon toont een diepe karmozijnrode kleur in het glas, met een heerlijk bouquet van levendig fruit - tonen van pruimen, kersen en aardbeienjam bereiden het gehemelte voor op een rijke proefervaring. De wijn rijpte een jaar lang in Franse eiken vaten van verschillende leeftijden, wat complexe lagen van bakkruiden en chocolade toevoegt. Het gehemelte vertoont rijpe tonen van gedroogde vijgen en rood fruit. Dit is een serieuze wijn, met een grote body, pittige zuren en een uitstekende algemene structuur. Hij verdient enige rijping in de fles, maar is ook zonder lange kelderperiode perfect te genieten. Overweeg deze wijn te combineren met rood vlees, tomatensaus of roergebakken rundvlees met subtiele kruidenaroma's.
