Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Nu drinken of tot 15 jaar bewaren. Pine Ridge is in 1978 opgericht door Gary en Nancy Andrus, die ervan droomden om Bordeaux-wijnen van topkwaliteit te maken in hun geboorteland Californië. Vandaag de dag heeft het landgoed 160 hectare aan wijngaarden verspreid over vijf verschillende appellations, Carneros, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford en Stags Leap District, wat hen een enorme veelzijdigheid en consistentie geeft van jaargang tot jaargang.

    Het fruit voor deze krachtige Cabernet is zorgvuldig geselecteerd uit de eerste Stags Leap District, Oakville en Rutherford wijngaarden van het landgoed. Het fruit wordt 's nachts geoogst wanneer de temperaturen koeler zijn om het natuurlijke karakter en veel frisheid te behouden. De gisting vindt plaats in neutrale tanks, waarna de wijn 17 maanden rijpt in Amerikaans eikenhout.

    Verleidelijke tonen van framboos, bramentaart en cassis domineren de neus, terwijl de eerste slok hints van gedroogde viooltjes, cacao, gember en zelfs verse basilicum onthult. Er is een royale volle body, stevige tannines en een krachtige structuur die goed zal reageren op nog een decennium of zo in de kelder. De afdronk is lang en schoon met veel rijp fruit, koffiebonen, pure chocolade en kruiden.
