Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Querciabella wordt beschouwd als een van de belangrijkste producenten van Chianti dankzij de visie en vooruitziende blik van eigenaar Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni, die het landgoed in 1988 omschakelde naar biologische en in 2000 naar biodynamische wijnbouw. Vandaag de dag heeft het landgoed ongeveer 74 hectare wijngaarden in de Chianti Classico appellatie, waaronder veel van Chianti's meest gewaardeerde crus.

    Querciabella's vlaggenschip wijn is Camartina, een legendarische Super Tuscan die voor het eerst werd geproduceerd in 1981. Samengesteld uit Sangiovese en Cabernet Sauvignon, werd deze prachtige cuvee in 2004 uitgeroepen tot Beste Italiaanse Wijn en krijgt regelmatig lovende kritieken van wijncritici zoals Antoni Galloni die hem in 2020 omschreef als "Superb!".

    Camartina wordt alleen in de allerbeste jaargangen in kleine hoeveelheden geproduceerd, waarbij de twee druivensoorten apart worden gevinifieerd en 18 maanden in Franse eiken vaten rijpen. De beste partijen worden vervolgens geselecteerd voor de uiteindelijke blend en de wijn krijgt de tijd om te rijpen en volledig te integreren voordat hij klaar is om vrij te geven. De kracht en complexiteit van deze weelderige rode wijn maken het een geweldige wijn om nog een tijdje te bewaren of om nu van te genieten naast stevige rode vleesgerechten.
