Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Quinta Sardonia werd in 1998 opgericht door de legendarische Peter Sisseck, die ook de beroemde Dominio de Pingus in Ribera del Duero oprichtte. Gelegen net buiten het Ribera del Duero wijngebied, ligt Quinta Sardonia op een prachtige locatie op een hoge heuvelrug met uitzicht op de Duero vallei. De omstandigheden hier zijn ideaal voor het produceren van prachtige rode wijnen die gemakkelijk kunnen wedijveren met de bekendere buren van het landgoed dankzij het strenge klimaat en het talent van hun ex-Pingus wijnmaker, Jerome.

    Quinta Sardonia heeft in totaal 20 hectare wijngaarden die allemaal biologisch-dynamisch worden verbouwd om het lokale ecosysteem te beschermen en in harmonie te werken met de ritmes van de natuur. Deze botteling is gemaakt van Tempranillo en Cabernet Sauvignon druiven samen met kleinere hoeveelheden Syrah, Malbec en Merlot. Het domein markeert de beste druiventrossen als ze rijpen en co-fermenteert de rassen vervolgens samen met behulp van gisten die van nature in de wijnmakerij en op de druiven voorkomen. De wijn rijpt vervolgens 19 maanden in eiken vaten voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    Deze zorgvuldige en aandachtige aanpak van het wijnmaken levert een weelderige rode wijn op die rozenblaadjes, donkere chocolade en zoete kruidenaroma's uitstraalt. De eerste slok onthult een volle body, intense fruitige smaken en stevige tannines, waardoor deze fijne botteling een ideale kandidaat is voor langere rijping in de kelder.
