Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een legendarische figuur in de wijnwereld vanwege zijn pionierswerk in de Californische Napa Valley, Robert Mondavi richtte zijn gelijknamige wijnmakerij op in 1966 met de visie om uitzonderlijke wijnen te maken van traditionele Franse druivenrassen. Vandaag is het domein in de bekwame handen van wijnmakers Geneviève Janssens, Joe Harden en Megan Schofield, die onvermoeibaar werken om zijn droom levend te houden.

    Deze weelderige Napa Valley Chardonnay is gemaakt met druiven die zorgvuldig zijn geselecteerd uit de beste AVA's voor Chardonnay in de regio. Het merendeel van de druiven komt uit het zuidelijke deel van de vallei, waar de omstandigheden koeler zijn dankzij de mist van de baai en de zeebries, waardoor de druiven langzaam rijpen en de wijn fris blijft.

    Om het pure aromatische karakter van de Chardonnay druiven te vangen, vindt de oogst vroeg in de ochtend plaats. 70% van het fruit wordt vervolgens gefermenteerd in Franse eiken vaten en de rest in roestvrijstalen tanks. Beide worden vervolgens 9 maanden gerijpt op de droesem met regelmatige battonage. Het resultaat is een rijke, romige Chardonnay met aroma's en smaken van ananas, peer en mango, geroosterde hazelnoten en zoete vanille, die zorgvuldig in evenwicht worden gehouden door een fijne zuurgraad.
    Toevoegen om te vergelijken
