    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Sea Sun is het persoonlijke project van wijnmaker Charlie Wagner, zoon van Chuck, die in 1972 de prestigieuze Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford, Napa Valley, oprichtte. De familie Wagner heeft een lange wijnbouwtraditie die teruggaat tot het midden van de jaren 1850, toen hun voorouders vanuit Frankrijk en Duitsland naar Californië verhuisden. Maar terwijl zijn vader, Chuck Wagner, naam maakte met prestigieuze Cabernet Sauvignon, vond de zoon succes met Pinot Noir en Chardonnay.

    Deze Pinot Noir is een volledige expressie van de unieke schoonheid en het karakter van de Californische kust. De druiven zijn afkomstig uit de kustgebieden van Monterey, Santa Barbara en Solano. De wijn rijpt 10 maanden in Franse eiken vaten.

    De kleur is licht kersenrood met enkele donkere tinten. Hij is zeer geurig, rijk en expressief met aroma's van rijpe kersen, pruimen en rode bessen jam, geroosterde vanille, zwarte peper, zachte specerijen en aromatische kruiden. In de mond toont hij al zijn elegantie en zijdezachtheid. Hij smaakt als een mix van geroosterde eikenhoutkruiden en kersentaart, gevolgd door rijpe pruimen en zwarte peper. Zachte tannines en een evenwichtige zuurgraad zijn perfect geïntegreerd.

    Drink hem nu bij gegrilde steak of gebraden eend, of bewaar hem nog een paar jaar in de kelder.
