    Gevestigd in de pittoreske en ruige Jonkershoek Vallei in Stellenbosch, is Stark Conde een familiebedrijf met ongeveer 85 hectare wijngaard. De vallei wordt gekenmerkt door steile hoogteverschillen met wijngaarden die variëren van 150-600 meter boven de zeespiegel. Dit helpt om complexe, veelzijdige wijnen te creëren die worden gemaakt met behulp van traditionele technieken en nauwkeurige methoden, waaronder handmatige sortering van de druiven en gisting in kleine partijen.

    Deze robuuste Cabernet is gemaakt in een krachtige maar toegankelijke stijl van fruit afkomstig van vier Stellenbosch bergwijngaarden die zijn geplant op de karakteristieke ijzerrijke granietbodems van de regio. De druiven worden meestal half maart geoogst bij optimale rijpheid en worden zorgvuldig handmatig gesorteerd om ervoor te zorgen dat alleen fruit van topkwaliteit in deze botteling wordt verwerkt. Na de vinificatie rijpt de jonge wijn 20 maanden in Franse eiken vaten voordat hij wordt gebotteld en vrijgegeven.

    Geplette bramen, cederhout en theebladeren kenmerken de neus, terwijl het gehemelte intense donkere bessentonen biedt, gekruid met gedroogde kruiden, mokka en kruiden uit een sigarenkistje. Het krachtige smaakprofiel wordt aangevuld met stevige tannines en een goed gebouwde structuur die de komende jaren in de kelder zal rijpen. Een geweldige partner voor typisch Zuid-Afrikaanse braai of barbecue of geroosterd rood vlees.
