Stolpman Vineyards was founded over two decades ago when Thomas Stolpman stumbled upon an unspoilt paradise ideally suited to making exceptional wines tucked away in the hills of California’s Central Coast. Set on a limestone outcrop and cooled by breezes from the Pacific Ocean, the superb conditions allow black grape varieties like Syrah and Grenache to thrive with minimal human intervention. The estate is able to practice dry farming to produce incredibly intensely-flavoured grapes and performs minimal intervention in the winery.

La Cuadrilla is unique in the Stolpman portfolio as it is crafted from a block of vines which is assigned to “la cuadrilla” or “the crew”, the full-time workers on the estate who make all of the farming decisions on this plot. 100% of the profits from this wine are then given back to those workers in recognition of their hard work.

La Cuadrilla is a generous, full-bodied blend of Syrah, Sangiovese and Grenache grapes which offers a harmonious composition of freshness, vibrancy, and spicy dark fruit character. The wine opens with enchanting hints of violets, wild berry and plum notes while the first sip offers a medium body, well-defined structure and smooth, ripe tannins. The rich flavours of blackberries, cassis, and baking spice linger long on the tongue.
